Helping Maynard Schools Achieve Excellence by Building a Strong Community
Michelle L. Grace
President
mlgracey@verizon.net
Michelle truly enjoys and appreciates the wonderful Green Meadow Community---children, parents, educators, staff---and she is excited for the opportunity to serve on the GMPTO board and help organize programs to support the educational process and foster community. She also looks forward to meeting all the “friends she has not met yet” at the Green Meadow School.
Tina Sawyer
Vice President
tinasawyer13@comcast.net
Tina grew up in Watertown and Waltham and has lived in Maynard for the last 8 years. This is her second year as PTO vice president. She and her husband have 4 children-Amber, Derrin, Dean and Laila. They also have cats, bunnies, a gerbil and many fish. Tina and her husband own Vintage Lawn Care right here in Maynard. In addition to her PTO duties, she is also a Girl Scout leader. Tina has volunteered in the past and really enjoyed helping out and she feels joining the PTO will allow her even more opportunity to help. She loves Maynard and all the other families she has met here.

Marlys Furze
Member at Large
marlys.furze@gmail.com
Marlys has been volunteering for the Green Meadow PTO since her girls started at Green Meadow Elementary School a few years ago. After graduating from Simmons College in 1990, Marlys stayed in the Greater Boston area. After living throughout Middlesex County, Marlys and her husband Jason settled down in Maynard and have been residents for more than 15 years. "Green Meadow reminds me of my elementary school," says Marlys, "it is warm and inviting with a student body that's not overwhelming in size. It's a place where an individual can really make a difference. I want my kids to have the kind of experiences that I had in school. I believe the Maynard schools have the nurturing qualities that make education a positive experience for the entire family." Marlys manages the GMPTO website and last year began helping the organization develop their social web presence. She is currently looking to incorporate an online sign up area for volunteers, which will allow the GMPTO to streamline organizational communications surrounding events such as the Holiday Shoppe and the Spring Auction.
